Bowling is an American tradition that is
transferred nicely to the mobile gaming arena. 300 Bowl by Best
Direction, Inc. is a fun way to play a quick 10 frames without renting
an ugly pair of bowling shoes. The speed of the game is fast, with the
ball quickly hitting the pins and there is not much downtime
between shots.
The graphics of the game are awesome,
depicting a real looking wooden lane, black ball and white pins.
The point of view shows the lane as if the player is looking
slightly overhead, just as it is seen in real-life. The sound
effects in the game add to 300 Bowl’s realistic feel, with the
sounds of a ball rolling and pins being smashed and scattered.
The game offers a “One-Player” mode
where the user can play an uninterrupted 10 frames, and “Play the
Computer” mode where a player can play against a computerized
opponent or a “Two Player” mode where two human players can go
against one another, handing the phone off between turns. Many
games offer “One-Player” and “Vs. Mode” options, but the two
player option is not as prevalent, and may be a welcome site for
gamers who want to challenge their friends.
If the user increases the animation
levels, the arrow will move faster, making it much harder to aim,
and subsequently harder to hit pins.
Viewing the scorecard during a game
or at the end of a game will display a scorecard for "Player 2"
regardless of which game option is played (One Player, Two Player,
and vs. Computer).
The game has also been translated
into three languages
English, Spanish and Chinese.
